We have a Vinturi Wine Aerator. My husband thought it would be a good idea to have a stand (which we don’t leave out on the counter). While it’s convenient to use the stand to hold the Vinturi — it’s not necessary. Most times we don’t even get the stand out — we just hold the Vinturi when pouring the wine. So this is a nice to have but not a necessity. The stand construction is good — but nothing you’d leave out on the countertop. I do recommend the Vinturi (Amazon’s pricing is terrific on the Vinturi) — the stand is just a nice feature.

Over this past weekend, I was fortunate enough to attend a wine tasting of “Old wines” – wines that were at least 20 years old. Naturally this means there’s going to be a lot of sediment in the wines, so I brought this along to help out. Received it as a Christmas gift from my sister, and wow, what a gift! The filter trapped all the sediment and any cork bits that happened to fall in while the bottles were being opened, leaving the wine beautifully clear. The funnel helped to give just that little bit of aeration needed to bring the wines back to life. By the end of the evening, a number of my friends were asking where I had gotten it so that they, too, could obtain it. Awesome. Just, awesome.

This is the best aerator/filter I’ve ever used, hands down. I don’t use this on my “big” reds, but rather on more delicate wines. The aeration is gentle, and the filter can be removed. It’s easy to wash and store, and worth every penny.

It also creates a picturesque “shower” if you don’t use the filter and allow the wine to flow freely through the aerator. This is a plus, especially if you’re entertaining guests that aren’t oenophiles. They’ll think you’re wicked cool.

This wine aerator is great-so easy to use if you just want to pour a glass or two. It adds a lot of air to the wine!

Please correct the spelling of “Sonoita”. Also, many people have said the video is too fast paced. Too many things are covered in too short a time. Otherwise, this is great!!
